Voyage to the heart of the Lemptégy Volcano

Venture deep into the very core of the Lemptégy Volcano as it invites you to discover its history, across an unusual landscape strewn with volcanic stacks, ‘bombs’ and lava flows…
Like a time machine, the Lemptégy Volcano takes you back 30 000 years and unveils its tumultuous history during a guided tour either on foot or by train.
A 2½ hour visit, during which your guide gives you a visual and tactile introduction to volcanology in 100% natural surroundings. After the open-air tour, there is a documentary film about the Lemptégy Volcano and the Chaîne de Puys as well as an exhibition about the volcanoes of the world.

Lemptégy's soul reveals itself ...
A completely different – but just as exceptional – journey takes you to an area closed to the public since the Second World War: the industrial part of Lemptégy, where you can see the machines used for 60 years in the extraction of volcanic cinder fragments.

At the end of the tour, will you dare enter the Explosive Mine ?
This dynamic 4D presentation allows you to experience the power of natural phenomena by simulating a volcanic eruption within a mining environment. Guaranteed thrills ! 

(please note: the 4D presentation is not accessible to those in wheelchairs, to children under four, to pregnant women, or to those who are claustrophobic, have heart problems or any medical condition that could be aggravated by the explosive shocks)

New Night-time spectacle in 2012  !!!

From June to August, the volcano takes on a fabulous appearance in a new night-time spectacle. Come and see this new action-packed production with fantastic special effects (images moving through 180°, lasers, fireworks..). See the adventures of our intrepid heroes on not-to-be-missed dates! Each show-time evening, make the most of a celebratory meal in the company of a professional singer.

Tarmac parking area for buses, site partially accessible to people with reduced mobility, picnic area, souvenir shop, bar and restaurant.
