At the entrance to the Auvergne Volcano Park , Tournoël Castle , standing firmly on a rocky outcrop, dominates the Limagne plain.  

A fine medieval fortress, classed as an historic monument since 1889, Tournoël shows us what life was like behind the stone walls of a fortified castle when we tour the great lord’s hall, the bedrooms, kitchens and the chatelaine’s garden. The square keep offers a superb 100 kilometres view across the Limagne as far as the Forez mountains. All the castle’s roofs, doors, windows and floors have been restored.
