“THE MANOR OF VEYGOUX”  ESTATE

The only  tourist site dedicated to the French Revolutions

It's cultural and fun !

Built during the 17th century, the "Manor of Veygoux" estate is where  General Desaix, one of Napoleon Bonaparte's trusted commanders, grew up.
Nowadays, the estate comprises several areas open to visitors, offering temporary exhibitions about revolutionary France, and a mult-sensory museum dedicated to General Desaix's escapades during the French Revolution.  A mixture of lights, music, voices, sounds, smells, noise and videos, ... whisks you right into maelstrom of those revolutionary times.

The estate is located in the heart of  lovely countryside, with gardens offering lots of activities especially suited to families and children
-  a trail game "explore Egypt in Desaix's footsteps" : including a puzzle, magical box and hieroglyphics
- a marked pathway called « Desaix,  the knight of Veygoux » (1hour15mins)
- a restaurant area,
- a picnic area

In 2012, there are two temporary exhibitions :

Until August  : «The art of communicating and teaching during the French Revolution»
In September  :  "After French Révolution"

Several other events are also already planned, including :
Sunday April 8 and Monday April 9  :
Easter eggs hunt in the park
Saturday May 19 :
Museums night (national event)
Saturday June 16 :
concert
July 14 : historical reconstruction to celebrate the French Revolution
Iin July and August : come and play at a special open air "Cluedo ®" game : try to identify who is behind the death of General Desaix in Marengo
And of course, there are the Heritage days (mid September) and the Tasting Week  in October (national events)

Don't forget our "Vey'goûters", an original way to celebrate an event !
Once dressed up, in period costumes, children (aged 7 to 12) go on  a trip through history : a guided visit, trail game and riddles ... with a celebratory  meal at the end.
New in 2011 : the "Vey'goûter" "at King Louis court"
(only on reservation)
