A forest established on an ancient lava flow

This learning trail, the "Théâtre de la Forêt" (Forest Theatre) developed together with the Parc Naturel des Volcans is an original description of the backdrops, the technicians and the actors in this forest which is typical of the volcanic cheires.

The nature trail which is open to children and adults in all seasons, provides a playful introduction to this natural environment and an understanding of the need to ensure its conservation.

Taking the trails

To extend the learning trails, Volvic has signposted several paths that provide the cool shade of the forest in the summer.

If you have a bit more time, go and look at the section of the Volcan de la Nugère or set out on the short or long distance footpaths.

Hiking in the volcano country

If you wish, Volvic can put you in touch with a guide who can offer personalised hikes in the volcano country.

Get your bearings in the country

Whether you venture on paths by foot or mountain bike, it helps to know orienteering. The site provides orienteering initiation circuits suited to various levels.

Information and documentation on the trails and hikes is available at the Espace d'Information Volvic (Volvic Information Centre).
